Why I'm Running
In my lifetime, the United States has declined. The chasm between how America should be and what it presently has become is so wide that I feel called to do more — to get our country back on track.
I'm running for Congress because Oregon's 4th District deserves a representative who answers to the people — not to a political party, not to wealthy donors, and not to foreign interests. Just you.

Background
Roots in Oregon
I was born in Oregon and raised in Salem. I graduated from the University of Oregon with honors in Computer Science. I built my career in the Silicon Forest, working at Intel in West Portland, and was an early telecommuter in the 1990s — a move that allowed my family to return to Eugene, where we've lived ever since.
Career & Community
I retired as a software analyst and IT consultant for electric utilities. I served on the board of the Eugene Free Net in the 1990s, helping bring dial-up internet access to our community before broadband arrived. I've also served on several other nonprofit boards and remain committed to technology that serves the public good.
Beyond Technology
I hold additional training in permaculture design, nonviolent communication, and conflict resolution. These fields have shaped how I approach problems: find the root cause, listen before acting, and build systems that sustain themselves. I also enjoy singing folk songs with friends — community and creativity keep us human.
Independent Voice
I'm not a career politician. I'm not beholden to the Democratic or Republican parties. I'm running because I believe our government should work for all of us — not just the well-connected. The We The People Party platform focuses on issues where a majority of Americans already agree, but Congress continues to fail to deliver.
The Bridge Theme
Bridges are a central symbol of this campaign. The photo of the bridge in Florence, Oregon — a landmark within our district — represents building new connections that Heal the Divide: the polarization that has plagued America in recent years.
We have more in common than the political noise would suggest. Bridges connect. They serve everyone. They don't ask which side you're on before letting you cross. That's the kind of representation Oregon's 4th District deserves.
